With our huge LA shoot less than a fortnight away, as if I don’t have enough to do I thought I’d share some awesome work from the NY shoot back in April. My memory’s been refreshed by the recent Framed episode and there’s some stunners that caught my eye. This is by no means a comprehensive view of all the work created over those 3 days…! Just some that caught my recent attention rather randomly.
Starting with some beauties on Ian Gav’s website that, in context with his really rather bloody busy pro lifestyle, show how the Fashion Shoot Experience benefits your pro portfolio. The processing on this images of Aga, below, works really well to desaturate the yellow library and turn the scene into something soft and divine.
Also some incredible shots of Melissa Niu, Framed host, who took on our dare to jump into Leonid’s couture, dominating the Water Mill Villa itself like Queen of the Hamptons…

Below is a fantastic composite by Scott Rodenberg who was on our Framed workshop. This piece however took me by surprise in its ambitiousness. The key to any composite like this is synergy; of texture, of lighting… the balance between believability and surreal intrigue, and I think it’s really got it. This is model Maleen decked out in dress by Alex Teih and hat by Raquel Livia, just a taste of all the couture we enjoyed like photographer-kids-in-a-candy-shop.
Model: Maleen Rike Johannsen; Dress: Alex Teih; Hat: Raquel Livia; Earring, bracelet, necklace: Clara Kasavina; Shoes: Kilame design by Pamela Quinzi; Hair: Kisha Marie; Makeup: Chifumi Nambashi; Stylist: Leonid Gurevich; Stylist’s assistants: Marina Gurevich, Michelle Ortega
Lastly for this post, here’s some deliciousness of Otilia in furs, shot by Benoît Barbé (Bounet Photography). He shot partly digitally and partly with his Mamiya. Here’s my favourite of his digital shots.

Honestly though, you must check out all the work that constantly floods our Facebook group from the happy photographers who come to our latest shoots.
Be sure to check out the first Framed episode if you haven’t already.
